Super Fusion

Sushi shops with the least number of tables are usually a sign of quality. Super Fusion in Brookline proves this theory. With a few tables and a small sushi bar, the space is cozy. Come early! The Philadelphia Maki (smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber - guilty pleasure!) and the Unakyu Maki (eel, cucumber, and eel sauce) were flavorful with crisp cucumber but the highlight was the simple Negi-Hama Maki (yellowtail and scallion). The yellowtail was extremely fresh and the addition of the scallion was delightful. Would compare the taste to an early Spring day. No sauce, soy, or wasabi were needed to compliment the pairing.

For non-sushi fans - the Coconut Chicken Chop was a standard Japanese "Katzu" with breaded chicken (not too much coconut flavor) and "tempura-like" fried sweet potatoes and zucchini. Get this dish for the tangy sauce, a Japanese style sour fruit glaze with a speck of heat. Generous portion, enough for leftovers.
