Kimchi Kitchen
East of Inman Square in Cambridge is expanding with a diverse selection of dining options. With only a few choices for Korean cuisine in this area, Kimchi Kitchen is a welcome addition serving flavorful meats and warming soups and stews (to name a few) in a casual setting. Order at the counter and pour a hot cup of sungnyung - think rice tea.
Spicy pork bulgogi is tender with a red chili pepper sauce and sautéed onions. Daeng-jang jigae is great for a winter evening, miso-like broth with plenty of soft tofu, onions, jalapeño peppers, and a little bit of sliced pork. Served piping hot in a clay bowl, the spice builds as you enjoy. Both entrees served with perfectly cooked steamed white rice and kimchi (no other banchan/small plates served with these dishes). Wish there was more kimchi!
Also serving Korean staples such as dduk-bokki (soft rice cakes), bibimbap and japchae (sweet potato noodles) and unique inspirations like kimchi fried rice.
