Tampopo

Shops at Porter Square Exchange. Always something interesting to try. Mainly Japanese restaurants. Come for the bowls at Tampopo. Start with a side of hijiki (black seaweed), almost meaty with a pleasant crisp flavor of the sea. The namesake don bowls (tampopo don) are hearty with sliced fried meats, like a katsu. The crispy breading blends nicely with the creamy and tangy sauce drizzled atop the bowl of meat, steamed vegetables, and white rice. Your choice of miso soup or salad with a zesty ginger dressing to start. Plenty of curry and soba noodle options as well.
