Tenoch Mexican
With a couple of locations in the Boston area, Tenoch Mexican brings quality tortas (sandwich) and other traditional fare to Highland Ave on the far end of Davis Square. On a weekday at prime meal time there was a long line. Be prepared to wait but worth it.

Tortas are a traditional Mexican sandwich served with sauce and cheese. Try the namesake Tenoch with both carnitas and ham and a zesty chipotle mayo. The tacos are served open face with many combinations to chose from. Pastor is a standard with cubed pork and pineapple. Platos Mexicanos are always a favorite with steamy rice, tender black beans, pico de gallo salsa with lots of cilantro, the filling of your choice, and optional extra sides such as a dollop of sour cream. The adobo pork is shredded (like carnitas) and braised with a smoky and vinegar-based sauce.
