Mi Pueblito Restaurant

Simple food made right. While "simple" does not always receive a positive connotation, Mi Pueblito Restaurant in East Boston serves Central American fare without unnecessary flare. Plenty of corn tortilla chips with two salsas (mild pico de gallo and mild creamy verde) to munch. Get a horchata to compliment, a milky rice drink.

The pollo a la milanesa brings together a large breaded chicken cutlet with savory red beans and white rice. The cutlet is seasoned nicely without too much salt and some essence of garlic and red pepper. Take a slice of fresh jalapeño with a bite of the chicken for that extra pop of flavor. Plato tampiqueno combines carne asada (grilled steak) and a chicken enchilada. The carne asada is juicy but has a crisp charred exterior. The enchilada's corn tortilla is tender and just thick enough with shredded chicken and plenty of melted cheese. Also served with red beans and rice.

Coming back for the soups!
