Himalayan Bistro
Relaxing atmosphere. Large menu of Indian and Nepali fare in West Roxbury Center. Plenty of vegetarian options. As Nepali cuisine is not abundant in the Boston area, decided to sample some of these dishes. Served Indian papadam (thin crackers) and savory chutneys to start. Tomato/onion is always a favorite with a pleasant pack of heat.
Start with some momos (dumplings) or soup. Thukpa soup is mild, with a faint spice, combining vegetables and noodles. Kukhura Ko Masu Ra Saag (chicken with spinach) is not similar to Indian-style saag. Cubed chicken with loads of garlicky sautéed spinach. A small amount of sauce. Goat curry is saucier with some cream and spice. Note that some cubed goat meat is on the bone. White rice on the side. Interesting food but not overly exciting.
